By-election roundup

The results are in...

Following on from the stunning SNP win in Glenrothes West and Kinglassie here are the results for the other Scottish by-elections held yesterday.

Beinn na Foghla (Eilean Siar)

• Andrew Walker (Independent) – 437 votes
• Roslyn MacPherson (SNP) - 302 votes
• There were 739 valid papers, 31 rejected ballot papers.
• Turnout was 32.12%

This was effectively a Labour loss (to an independent) even though they didn't present a candidate.

Buckie (Moray)

• Sonya Warren (SNP) 1485 (59.5%)
• Norman Caldwell (Ind) 696 (27.9%)
• Tim Eagle (Con) 315 (12.6%)

This was an SNP gain from an independent with another impressive vote share.

Armadale & Blackridge (West Lothian)

• Sarah King (SNP) - 1,620 43.4%
• Andrew McGuire (LAB) - 1,009 27.0%
• Scott MacKay (IND) - 756 20.3%
• Ian Burgess (CON) - 255 6.8%
• Jenny Johnson (GRN) - 90 2.4%

This was an SNP hold.
