Tory and Labour councillors withdraw motion

Following on from yesterday's report about the motion to replace the Stirling Saltire with a Union Flag it would appear there was a last minute change of heart by the instigators.

According to a report from the BBC the two unionist councillors withdrew their motion from today's council meeting.

The flood of complaints to the Tory and Labour run council over the last twenty four hours probably helped them see the likely bad publicity that would ensue should the motion be successful. Retreat was the only option.
